Switchfoot at Samford

This evening I went to the Switchfoot concert at Samford with Julie, Cooper, Patrick, and Julie’s pal, Andrew. The Rocket Summer opened and did a pretty swell job. One thing though—the hair. There is something about musicians and the need for outlandish hair, just saying.

Switchfoot was really good live and Jon Foreman has great stage presence. He went out into the crowd for one of the songs which was nice. The crowd wasn’t very lively for a concert though. Samford folk, whattya gonna do? Just kidding.

After the concert Julie and I drove to Sonic where it seems all of Samford went as well. It was nice to see some of the gang from University Christian Fellowship (UCF) and chill for a while. In case you didn’t know, after 8pm Sonic has half off milkshakes. boom.

I think the Samford-UAB collaboration is going well. We’re really taking the whole community thing to heart—I think Joel would be proud.
